Scenes From A Prairie Idaho Area Bike Ride

The ride

On May 14, 2018, I took a ride on my mountain bike from the South Fork of the Boise River to a spot about 1.5 miles southeast of Prairie, Idaho. Here are some photographs and observations from that adventure.

This ride starts off with a steep climb out of the South Fork Canyon. In the first 2.5 dirt road miles, you gain almost 900 feet vertical. From there it's a gradual climb while heading north. The ride could be extended for miles into the Boise National Forest or you can turn around at any time.

Watch for elk, deer, turkey, ducks, raptors, and cows. As this is a county road, you can also expect some vehicle traffic so keep an eye out.
